In Benidorm, there is enormous need for the Gospel and great potential for outreach in the area. The English Church, established in 1985, is actively engaged in this ministry. The church is under the oversight of Paraclete Christian Network International which is responsible for providing ministry and pastoral care throughout the year. Currently, Revd. Trevor Ramsey is resident in Benidorm for the most part of the year ministering, with his wife Maggie, to the needs of all who come to the Church. During the summer months, visiting ministers from the UK staff the church. Wedding blessings can be arranged on request.
Trevor has extensive experience in pastoral work, having pastored 3 churches in Ireland over the last 35 years. In March 2021 he stepped down as Senior Pastor of Newtownbreda Baptist Church in Belfast, Northern Ireland's largest Baptist church, and he and Maggie have received a clear and consistent call to head up the work in Benidorm, a call affirmed by Paraclete Christian Network International and their home church. They started work in Benidorm on 1st September 2021. Trevor says "Come and worship the King with us in The English Church in Benidorm. You will be very welcome and our prayer is that you will encounter the Living One who has the power to transform."
The congregation meets in the Gospel Centre, an attractive building at the heart of one of Benidorm’s chief tourist areas close to the sea-front. The Church is rented from the Scandinavian Congregation who own the building and also worship there. From time to time, where possible, the English Church shares activities and fellowship with them.
